There wasn’t much time, but he knew he could do it. Everyone said it was impossible, but here he was proving how wrong they were! He stayed as still as possible, using all his training not to touch the rays; he could almost feel the power emanating from them. He placed his hand close to one of them—could feel the heat. He felt proud to know that death was a few feet away and he was not afraid. He knew he had only one chance; he would be killed the moment he attempted the assassination. Killing him was a once in a lifetime shot. He was always too well guarded, prepared (one could even say paranoid) for these kind of things. The morning sounds, the birds gave him a quiet sense of calm. He was geared; everything in place, he crouched to pounce upon his prey. He could see him in the distance. The man was foolish to have the same routine. It was idiotic; another reason he needed to die. As the victim approached, the assassin leapt from his perch; everyone turned in abject horror when he leapt. In his peripheral vision, he saw the guards draw their weapons. He stayed focused—he had this only chance. He would not fail. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <<FLASH>> NSA Frequency 4593 >API Transline: 9:45am ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At 0815 hrs this morning, a white male jumped out of a tree to attack President.
